We made our own dough.

The secret is to ad some orange peel to the ginger bread spices.

Tänäkin vuonna meillä oli apuna Pojan vauva-aikaisia kavereita. Lapsilla oli hauskaa. Taikinaa meni kyllä suuret määrät suuhun eikä pellille.

Like last year we had some help in baking from my sons friends from his baby time. Children enjoyed baking, even though large amount of the dough ended up in little mouths instead of the metal sheet.

Itsenäisyyspäivä tuo mieleen pappani. Lähdin varastoon etsimään kuvaa hänestä. Löysin kuvan jossa ovat pappa, mummo, isä, tätini ja serkkuni. Laitoin kuvan esille muiden tärkeiden kuvieni joukkoon. Varastosta löysin myös isäni vanhan huuliharpun. Poika soittaa innoissaan huuliharppua.

Independens day makes me think of my grandpa. I went to our storage to look for a picture of him. I found a picture: There is grandpa, grandma, my father, my aunt and my cousin. I put the picture on a self with my other important pictures. From the storage I found and old harmonica. It had belonged to my father. My son was very excited to play the harmonica.

I bought gingerbread forms.

They are gifts for children in France and in the Netherlands.

3. joulupalloja / knitting Christmas balls

Ompeluseura kokoontui kutomaan Aarnen ja Carloksen joulupalloja. Ak oli tuonut pehmeän makean valkosuklaa mud caken. Oma palloni ei ollut kuvaamisen arvoinen, mutta hauskaa oli.

Our knitting circle came together to knit Christmas balls by Aarne and Carlos. Ak brought with her a soft and sweet white chocolate mud cake. My ball was not very photogenic, but we had lots of fun.

2. joulukalenteri / Christmas calendar

Meillä on Virpi Pekkalan Talotontun joulunodotuskalenteri. Eräs pikkutonttu oli käynyt jo availemassa luukkuja, joten kalenteri oli jäähyllä kirjahyllyn päällä. Alas kalenteri otettiin ensimmäisenä päivänä tikapuiden eli isän avulla.

Our elf had opened some of the doors of the Christmas calendar beforehand. So the calendar was on hold on top of the bookcase. On the first day of December my son took it down with a help from a ladder, his father.
